Accounts used for MUD or Web hosting are to be used only for that purpose.
No IRC servers or bots are permitted. No graphical game servers are permitted. Anyone found
to be running anything other than a standard text based MU* will have their account
terminated and all fees paid up to that point forfeited.
All accounts require the use of SSH2 and SFTP to access the servers
for security reasons. You will not be able to work with files using anything else. Standard
telnet and ftp will NOT be enabled for anyone.
The person creating the account is the person who will be held
responsible for that account. You may not transfer your account to another party. Anyone
found to have done so will have their account terminated with no refund.
You agree to be bound by the license terms of the codebase you
choose to use for your mud. If you are later found to be in violation of these terms by
any means, your account will be terminated without refund.
Requests to change passwords by email, postal mail, or any other
method will not be honored. It is up to the account holder to maintain control of their
password. This is due to the potential for identity fraud and theft of services. If you
don't trust someone, don't give them your password!
A mud which is found to be consistently draining system resources
beyond reasonable limits will have their process killed and an email sent to the account
owner. Continued use of a process that consumes more than a reasonable amount of resources
will result in account termination with no refund.
Your account may not be used to send unsolicited emails to anyone,
may not be used to house "warez" ( pirated software ), pornographic materials, or be used
for hacking into other machines or any other activity which is unlawful. Your account may
not be used to store programs used for hacking into other sytems, even if they are not used
from your account. Your account also may not be used as a drop point for file transfers to
and from external accounts. Anyone found to be in violation will have their account
terminated and no refund will be issued.
Arthmoor Internet Services cannot and will not be held liable for
the content of any mud running on its systems.
Account cancellations:
Non-Subscription: You must notify us in writing via postal mail,
or in email from the original account used to sign up from. Cancellation requests received
from improper email accounts WILL NOT BE HONORED due to the potential for identity fraud.
Subscription: You MUST use the Paypal system to cancel a subscription.
Requests to cancel these types of accounts via email WILL NOT BE HONORED under any conditions
and you will continue to be responsible for payments to these types of accounts. If you are
unable to cancel via Paypal, then you MUST send your cancellation via postal mail. No other
methods for cancelling subscription based accounts will be accepted due to potential for
identity fraud.
We make no guarantee as to the stability of the network as we do not
have control over what happens upstream from us. We will not be held liable for any damages
that may result from the use of our services. You are advised to maintain backups of your
work.
Accounts terminated for non-payment will NOT be archived for future
retrieval. We will not be held liable for the loss of your mud if your account is
terminated. Again, you are advised to maintain backups of your work.
We reserve the right to amend these polices at any time. All
customers will be expected to comply with the current policies in effect for as long as
their accounts are active.
