- Top MUD Sites - Primarily useful for the front page "top 100" rankings, as well as for listings in general. The forums here are also full of good ideas and are kept civil through active and effective moderation.
- The MUD Connector - A general MUD resource site. Forums, mudlistings, and ranking database. Best used for advertisement and rankings. Avoid the forums here if you value your sanity, there is no moderation at all.
- Codebase and Code Resources
- FTP Game.org - One of the largest repositories of codebases and areas (FTP site).
- SmaugMuds.org - The Smaug MUDs Community Center. A place where Smaug enthusiasts from all over can come together and exchange ideas, have discussions, or just pick up the latest bugfixes, code, and snippets for Smaug MUDs. Featured code includes Smaug, SWR, SWFOTE, and AFKMud.
- General Resources
- Quicksilver Forums - Not strictly a MUD resource, but if you are looking to add a forum for your MUD, then Quicksilver Forums is a smart choice. Quicksilver Forums is a fast, feature rich bulletin board system written in PHP and MySQL. It is fully object oriented and optimized for speed, ease of use, and easy modifications. QSF checks all inputs though a common interface which drastically reduces the chances of exploitable bugs. Powerful and flexible skinning engine makes giving your board a new look very simple. - QSF Portal - Also not strictly a MUD resource, but if you are looking to build a community website for your players and admins, then QSF Portal is a natural fit. It extends from the powerful Quicksilver Forums software and adds lightweight CMS capabilities in addition to a powerful downloads module.
